How to use Processed in your browser

Format one YAML 1.2 document, choose list layout, and optionally remove comments. Aliases, custom tags and YAML 1.1 are not supported.

Privacy & draft storage

Tool input and output stay in your browser. Neither is uploaded or saved by the toolkit.

  • Copy writes the result to your device’s clipboard. Save downloads a file to your device.
  • Switching tools or returning home keeps drafts in this tab’s memory.
  • Reloading or leaving the toolkit clears drafts. Nothing is saved to browser storage.

Clearing a tool does not erase a copy already on your clipboard or a file you saved. A dot beside a tool marks an edited draft.

How to use

YAML formatter

  1. Paste one YAML document or open a local UTF-8 file.

  2. Choose the list style and indentation, and whether to remove comments.

  3. Review the result and validation messages before copying or saving.

Supported YAML

This formatter accepts one YAML 1.2 document. The format is defined in the YAML 1.2 specification.

This tool does not support aliases, custom tags, multiple documents or YAML 1.1.

Tool limits: 500,000 UTF-16 code units of input and 1,000,000 of output.

List layout and comments
  • Keep list style preserves the existing layout.
  • Lists · separate rows uses block lists.
  • Lists · inline [a, b] uses brackets.

Remove comments is optional. Review configuration changes with Text diff before using the result.
